CHEAP & EASY EATS

Snack-alicious! Frozen Grapes Are the Lowest

of Low-Cal—Yet Yummy—Treats

By Nissa Simon

T

his perfectly simple treat is at its best on a steamy hot summer day, when you’re yearning for something chilly and standing in front of an open refrigerator isn’t an option. But there’s no reason why you can’t have them all year-round. An added bonus: Frozen grapes are about as low in calories as you can find—and you don’t have to limit them to dessert after dinner.  They’re good at any time of the day, and nothing could be easier to prepare.

“Eating them is like eating a popsicle,” said one MAKING BREAD staffer, after trying this recipe. “It’s the most fun I’ve had with food since I was a child.”

Ingredients & Preparation

1 bunch green or red

seedless grapes

Stem a bunch of fresh seedless grapes, either green or red.  Rinse, drain and dry them on a paper towel.  Once they’re completely dry, put them into a covered container in your freezer.  Don’t let them thaw before you eat them.
